So what will children learn?
Surrey Police, Surrey County Council, Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, St John Ambulance, and Surrey Heath Borough Council will be joining forces to provide each year 6 school class with half a day's activities. The activities are divided into sets and are aimed to challenge young people in a fun and effective way.
The subjects will cover;
Children will receive a certificate and a wristband after they have attended the event.

Fire Safety
Children are taught how to evacuate a smoke filled room safely by a member of the Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS). Work to support this set can be found on SFRS webpage Escape from Fire Opens in a new window.
Staying Safe
This set aims to teach children to be aware of unknown adults and to avoid placing themselves in potentially dangerous situations. It serves as a good reminder that some strangers use some clever techniques to lure youngsters into unsafe situations. A helpful website to use if following up this set is the Junior Citizen website. First Aid
Volunteers from St John Ambulance teach children practical first aid advice covering a variety of topics such as the recovery position, how to treat a broken limb or how to deal with wounds and bleeding. Anti social behaviour (ASB)
This interactive set run by Surrey Police is aimed to increase children's awareness and understanding of ASB. The children discuss what is and isn't anti social behaviour and see how others view their actions, and the affect it can have. Well-being
This set run by the Surrey Heath Borough Council's Leisure Team, covers advice about staying healthy, and how small changes all add up to a healthier lifestyle. More information about the well being activities visit the Arts and Leisure webpages.
Internet Safety
This set advises children how to stay safe when using Internet chat rooms. An impactful example brings home the message that you can never be sure of who you are talking to on line.
