During February and March 2009, we carried out a small scale community safety survey of those living and working in Surrey Heath. The purpose of the consultation was to 'test' our community safety priorities for 2009/10, which are:
Survey results
We received 182 responses to our residents' community safety survey. Residents told us that the most important community safety concern to them at the time (March 2009) was household burglary. Residents' (joint) second most important community safety concerns were fear of crime and criminal damage. Within the 182 surveys, we received 20 completed forms from residents with disabilities, whose main concerns were fear of crime and household burglary. We received 41 responses to our survey for young people, whose main concern was fear of crime. We also received 12 responses to our survey for businesses, whose main concern was alcohol-related violent disorder and damage.
