What are we trying to achieve?
What are our objectives?
The Safer Surrey Heath Partnership has a statutory duty to formulate and implement crime and disorder reduction strategies. Its objectives and targets are contained in the Partnership Plan, which is continuously reviewed and updated by a Partnership Plan working group. The group draws on intelligence provided by the Partnership's Joint Action Group (JAG) and Community Incident Action Group (CIAG) as well as from contributing partners and the community.
Current targets and objectives (June 2008) include:
- Educating motorists to drive and park more safely, and maintaining low levels of those killed or seriously injured (KSI) on Surrey Heath's roads (KSIs 2007-08 = 32)
- Reducing public place disorder in anti-social behaviour hotspots in the borough (Camberley Town Centre, Frimley, Old Dean and Heatherside)
- Increasing awareness of domestic abuse, and encouraging victims to report incidents of domestic abuse
- Dealing effectively with environmental issues, including dog fouling, litter and fly tipping
- Reducing levels of arson
- Increasing awareness and education about substance misuse, and reducing alcohol dependency
- Maintaining low levels of domestic burglary and vehicle crime
